The holiday season can be joyful but may also bring stress, loneliness, or high expectations. If you're struggling with your mental health during this time, you're not alone. Here are 5 tips to help you care for yourself:
Set Boundaries
During the holidays, it's okay to say no to overwhelming events. Prioritize your mental health by creating a schedule that works for you, and take time to recharge without feeling guilty.
Stay Connected
Loneliness can be stronger during the holidays, but reaching out to a trusted friend—through a call, text, or coffee—can help reduce feelings of isolation.
Practice Self-Care
In the midst of daily hustle, prioritize self-care. Simple actions like walking, meditating, journaling, or savouring a cup of tea can help ground you and restore balance.
Express Your Feelings
Talking about your feelings can be very healing. Expressing emotions is critical to healing, whether with a loved one, a counsellor, or through creative outlets.
Be Imperfect Perfect
Not every day will be perfect, and that is perfectly fine. Embrace the ups and downs without judgment; it's OK not to be okay sometimes.
